Planner/GIS and Data Administrator
Kevin has been with Envision Utah since 2014. He serves as a planner and oversees the organization’s GIS and survey data. Kevin’s current work includes public outreach and data modeling related to fostering Utah’s growing technology industry while preserving the state’s high quality of life. He is also involved in organizing a series of trainings for city councils/planning commissions that will help teach community leaders about how to plan for their cities.
Kevin has acted as the topical lead for the subjects of transportation and communities, housing & cost of living, and disaster resilience as part of the Your Utah, Your Future initiative, designed to involve Utahns state-wide in planning for the future. He has also helped with training and modeling efforts for Envision Layton, helped gather and organize information for a federal disaster grant application, and engaged stakeholders and wrote strategies for the Utah County Agriculture Toolbox.
Prior to Envision Utah, Kevin worked for a local private transportation engineering firm, where he updated and ran the region’s travel demand model and built traffic simulations.
Kevin is experienced in GIS mapping, transportation planning, and data analysis. Kevin holds a master’s degree in City and Metropolitan Planning from the University of Utah, and a bachelor’s degree in Geography from Brigham Young University. He is a certified member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and a current member of the American Planning Association.
