After half a year of hard work and collaboration Envision Utah releases A Vision for Teacher Excellence, offering recommendations on how we recruit, retain, and re-engage the best teachers in Utah. Together with the Utah Inland Port Authority, Envision Utah has conducted several months of public engagement that we’ve just released in the Utah Inland Port Public Engagement Report.

August:
With over 8,000 delegates in attendance, Envision Utah had the opportunity to present at the 68th United Nations Civil Society Conference on our history and nationally recognized visioning process. Envision Utah was featured by the Ian L. McHarg Center for Urbanism and Ecology in the Design with Nature Now exhibition, focusing on the Quality Growth Strategy.

Valley Visioning: Phase One Report released. So far we’ve found that residents’ top priorities for growth in Utah County are 1) managing water, 2) improving transportation, 3) reducing air pollution, and 4) improving education. Envision Utah is working with stakeholders to figure how compensation should play a role in attracting the best and brightest teachers to the profession (and keeping great teachers in the classroom). Envision Utah and Help Me Grow held a Vroom + Waffles networking breakfast to help early learning providers connect and discover new ways to help parents build their kids’ brains.
