Recreation is an important part of Utah’s culture. Through the Your Utah, Your Future survey Utahns made it clear they envision a future where our state remains a premier place for outdoor recreation for both residents and visitors. This future includes:
Good access to outdoor recreation, including parks, trails, campgrounds, hiking and OHV trails, and state and national monuments.
Efforts to maximize the economic benefits of tourism while minimizing how much crowding there is at recreational facilities.
Having somewhat higher home prices, which would result from charging home builders higher fees for the development of parks and trails.
