We connect with the early childhood community in a variety of ways: conferences, school events, professional development, trainings, parent workshops, and more. and it all starts with great partners.

The Early Learning Project at Envision Utah empowers partners all across the state. Here are a few examples of services we offer, and the types of events we like to attend—and host!

Training

  • Professional development - We would love to come out to your office, classroom, school, childcare center, or facility to introduce brain-building to the professionals you work with or manage.

  • Staff training - Our project staff has conducted dozens of staff trainings. We’re on hand to help! Let us take a few minutes of your scheduled meeting or conference call to share the importance of brain-building with your faculty or staff.

  • Parent workshopsBrain-building 101 - We relish any time we can interact with parents directly. Let us present directly to your parents and share the brain-building tips and tricks straight from the brain-science experts.

2024 Keynote - Quang-Tuyen T. Nguyen, MD, FAAP

She/her/hers

Dr. Quang-Tuyen T. Nguyen (“Dr. Q”) is an associate professor in the Division of General Pediatrics and currently serves as the vice-chair for Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Utah.  She serves the larger community through the University of Utah and Primary Children’s Intermountain Medical Center.

Dr. Nguyen’s research, advocacy, and education interests focus on early childhood experiences, working with under-resourced families and supporting family units using frameworks of relational health and preventative care.  She believes that families who are least resourced are the ones most at risk of longer term behavioral and physical health issues across their lifespan.  Empowering patients to be seen and cared for in a humanistic health system ensures resilience, family and community cohesion, and medical service that is individually appropriate and relevant.

Within her academic community, Dr. Nguyen has had a heavy focus on education, working with medical students and trainees, faculty development and engagement.  Research aefforts have included workshops and trainings on bias, course facilitation on difficult themes such as racism, parity, error, and justice in medicine.
