In 2016, a vision for Layton was established by hundreds of residents and stakeholders. The vision calls for new neighborhoods with greater housing variety and more amenities, such as neighborhood parks, activity areas, small shops and integrated agriculture. The vision also calls for town centers throughout the community to provide surrounding neighborhoods with convenient access to shopping, gathering and other services. Trails connecting neighborhoods and natural areas, and leading to activities in a re-imagined Historic Downtown and Midtown are also envisioned. Making it convenient to shop and work in our own community would help to pay for the costs of servicing residential areas.
